When we least expect it, life can throw us a curveball that we never saw coming. These unforeseen events can be thrilling, terrifying, and everything in between. In my own life, I have encountered a few of these events that have left a deep impact on me. In this article, I will share my personal experiences with encountering the unexpected and how they have shaped me into who I am today.

The Big Move

The first major event I encountered was when I was fifteen years old. My parents announced that we were moving halfway across the world from our hometown in Canada to Thailand. I remember feeling stunned and unsure of what to expect. We had lived in the same place for my entire life and had a tight-knit community of friends and family. The idea of leaving it all behind was daunting. But as we settled into our new home in Thailand, I discovered a newfound sense of adventure and curiosity. I embraced the challenge of learning a new language, adapting to a different culture, and exploring a part of the world I had never seen before. This experience opened my eyes to the beauty and diversity of the world, and I developed a sense of independence and resilience that has stayed with me ever since.

The Loss of a Loved One
